A woman died after falling as she walked between cars on a Manhattan subway train Monday, police sources and MTA officials said.
Lorraine Ogarro, 54, of The Bronx was crushed at around 10:30 a.m. after she lost her footing while stepping from one car to another on a downtown 1 train as it rumbled into the 207th Street station, sources said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unclear why Ogarro was walking between cars.
Seven people have been struck and killed by subway trains so far this year, MTA officials said. Fifty-eight were killed in 2014.
Relatives at Ogarro’s Claremont home declined to comment.
