A female passenger was busted near the Holland Tunnel for carrying a loaded gun in her purse — and allegedly told cops she needed the piece for protection when she plays cards in Harlem.

Stephanie Murphey, 31, of Jamaica, Queens, was busted at 10 a.m. Sunday after a male friend was pulled over near the Holland Tunnel, in Jersey City, for a license plate infraction.
Port Authority Police Officer John Basile smelled marijuana and a search turned up an illegal .25- caliber Raven semi-automatic pistol with hollow-point bullets, a source said.
Murphey, who claimed to have found the weapon, was charged with illegal possession of a gun and hollow-point ammunition.
