An 11-year-old girl was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver of a school bus full of students while she was crossing a Brooklyn street Thursday afternoon, cops and sources said.
The 2018 Blue Bird full-size school bus was traveling south on 23rd Avenue when it attempted to make a right turn on Bath Avenue in Gravesend and collided with victim Amira Aminova in the crosswalk around 3 p.m., police and sources said.

The bus, which had students aboard, didn’t stop following the crash, but was pulled over shortly later, cops and sources said.
The driver, Wawa Aurelus, 62, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with motor vehicle failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care, police said.
The unidentified school bus driver fled the scene of the accident with students on board. Google MapsIt’s unclear if the driver knew the girl was hit by the bus as the investigation by the Highway Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing.
The bus company and the school it serves are also not immediately known.
