Police are investigating a suspicious death in the Bronx after a woman was found unconscious Wednesday morning with a plastic bag wrapped around her neck, police said.

The 50-year-old woman was discovered in Eastchester around 10 a.m. by her mother lying face up on a basement floor on Secor Avenue with a plastic bag wrapped around her neck and head that was secured with duct tape, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
