A woman was critically hurt Saturday morning when she was riding in a car that was struck head-on in Queens, according to authorities.

The vehicles collided around 3:35 a.m. on Vernon Boulevard near 36th Avenue in Astoria, police said.

The 38-year-old victim, who was a passenger in one of the cars, suffered a head injury and was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition. Three other people were taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center with non-life-threatening injuries, an FDNY spokesman said.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear. Both drivers stayed at the scene.
