A woman was killed by a train Saturday when she fell from the platform onto the tracks at a busy Manhattan subway station, authorities said.

The victim, whose name was withheld pending family notification, appeared to have been intoxicated, said MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz.

A police officer at the scene said the woman, who may have been distracted because she was using a cell phone, could have been accidentally bumped by a fellow passenger just as a Brooklyn-bound 4 train approached the Union Square station at about 3:30 p.m.

The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
