A woman fell 10 stories to her death this morning from a downtown Manhattan building in an apparent suicide, police said.

The woman, who was not identified, was found on the sidewalk at 5:55 a.m. in front of 80 Maiden Lane in the Financial District.

The woman worked for the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty, an organization founded in 1972 that serves as an advocacy group for poor New Yorkers.
