A waitress at a chic Manhattan restaurant was raped by a hulking sexual predator in her Washington Heights apartment on Tuesday, police sources said.

The 20-year-old woman, who works at a Park Avenue eatery, answered a knock at the door of her apartment Tuesday night and was confronted by a 6-foot-9 maniac who pushed his way inside, sources said.

The assailant threw her to the ground, ripped off her clothes and raped her, sources said.

The terrified woman, who did not know her attacker, tried to fight him off to no avail, sources said.

The unidentified suspect then fled. “It was a horrific stranger rape plain and simple,” said one source. “The victim is a very nice woman.”

Detectives are poring over surveillance video from the building.
