Police are investigating a report of a possible rape at a West Village apartment early Sunday, authorities said.

The 21-year-old victim told police she had attended a party at a man’s apartment on West 13th Street Saturday night and was invited to sleep over since it was late and she had been drinking, sources said.

The 27-year-old man told the woman she could sleep in his bed and that he would sleep on the couch. But she later awoke around 2:30 a.m. Sunday to find him lying over her and trying to rape her.

He grabbed her arms during a brief struggle, leaving her with bruises before she left the apartment.

Police are still investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.
