A 36-year-old woman was slashed by a blade-wielding madman in a Lower East Side subway station early Sunday morning, the NYPD said.
Following a 911 call, officers found the unidentified victim — who was cut at the Delancey Street/Essex Street station — with a laceration on her left leg, a department spokesperson said Sunday.
Authorities brought her to Bellevue Hospital, where she is in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene on a southbound J train. Dakota Santiago/FreedomNewsTVPolice aren’t sure what precipitated the attack, and could not say if it was unprovoked.
They described the suspect as a man wearing a navy blue bag and blue hat. He fled on a southbound J train following the attack, cops said.
Police haven’t made any arrests. The investigation is ongoing, they added.
