A 36-year-old woman was slashed by a blade-wielding madman in a Lower East Side subway station early Sunday morning, the NYPD said.

Following a 911 call, officers found the unidentified victim — who was cut at the Delancey Street/Essex Street station — with a laceration on her left leg, a department spokesperson said Sunday.

Authorities brought her to Bellevue Hospital, where she is in stable condition.

Police aren’t sure what precipitated the attack, and could not say if it was unprovoked.

They described the suspect as a man wearing a navy blue bag and blue hat. He fled on a southbound J train following the attack, cops said.

Police haven’t made any arrests. The investigation is ongoing, they added.
