An unhinged man attacked a 56-year-old woman — stabbing her with a broken bottle — in front of the downtown Brooklyn Apple store Thursday morning, cops said.

The woman was walking in front of 123 Flatbush Avenue just after 8 a.m. when a stranger approached and repeatedly tried to hit her, authorities said.

She attempted to block the punches with an umbrella, police said.

At some point during the scuffle, a liquor bottle dropped to the floor, cops said.

The suspect picked up the broken bottle and stabbed her in the back, cops said.

She was taken to the Brooklyn Hospital Center with a laceration and is in stable condition, according to cops and the FDNY.

The suspect fled after the attack. He is described as around 5-foot-6 and 200 pounds, was last seen wearing black boots, black jeans and a black sweater.

At first, police reported that the stabbing happened inside the store — information that they said came from the initial 911 caller.

The incident happened about two hours before the store’s 10 a.m. opening.
