A sleeping man was viciously stabbed by his female partner inside their luxury Midtown apartment, police said Monday.

The 64-year-old victim was dozing when his 53-year-old lover stabbed him twice in the torso after a fight at the Fifth Avenue building near East 38th Street around 11:15 p.m. Sunday, cops said.

The man was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.

The woman, who suffered some bruising to her face, went to the same hospital for treatment and was taken into police custody.

Charges are pending, officials said.

Police were not immediately aware what sparked the violence.
