A woman was killed while walking along a Bronx highway Monday, authorities said.

The 49-year-old was walking down the southbound lanes of the Major Deegan Expressway near 233rd Street around 5 a.m.

The 70-year-old male driver remained at the scene and has not been charged with a crime.

The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s not clear why she was on the highway.
