A woman was struck and critically injured by a hit-and-run driver Friday night in Brooklyn — after she rushed to the aid of her beloved pooch, who had been fatally run over by another car moments earlier.

Kristin Rendina, who celebrated her 31st birthday only a few days ago, was walking Pasquolino, a dachshund, and a pit bull named Gino, on Avenue Z in Gravesend at 11:20 p.m. when the tiny dog darted into the street and was hit.

After Rendina ran into the street in a desperate attempt to save Pasquolino, a black Jeep Wrangler slammed into her and sped off, authorities said.

Gino was unhurt.

Ashley Salgado, who visited her pal in the hospital Saturday, pleaded with the driver: “Come forward! Give yourself up!

“Her family and friends are traumatized by what you did.’” she added.

Salgado said her friend “is sedated and hooked up to [life support] machines.

“She has a broken sternum, broken ribs and a collapsed lung and is in critical but stable condition.’’

Salgado added, “I’m sad, I’m upset.

“I just want her to be OK.’’
