The body of a woman was found inside of a vacant lot in the East Village this morning, authorities said.

The woman, believed to be in her 30’s, was spotted on East 7th Street near Avenue C sometime before 10 a.m., police said.

“I was walking by and I heard a woman screaming,” said Angel Carrillo, 43.

“She yelled, ‘there’s a woman there, she’s not moving,’” Carrillo recalled.

Cops said there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body. It was not immediately clear how the woman died, police said.
