A 75-year-old woman was shot in broad daylight in New York City on Tuesday when bullets were fired from a passing car, cops said.
The woman, whose identity wasn’t released, was grazed in the buttocks around 12:30 p.m. while she walked on Clinton Street on the Lower East Side, according to police.
She was taken to Beth Israel Hospital and was expected to survive, cops said.
Police were looking for four males who fled in a white Honda Civic with New Jersey license plates.
A worker at the nearby restaurant Taco Mix said she heard gunfire and saw the victim lying down on the bridge.
“We were busy for lunch and heard the gunshots,” said the woman who identified herself as Brenda W. “I was too scared to go outside and look. Then I peeked outside the window and saw a lady laying down on the bridge.”
A Boost Mobile employee, who asked to remain anonymous, said he also heard the gunfire from his store.
“I heard at least six or seven shots,” he said. “I wasn’t scared. The cops came and said a lady had been shot while taking a walk on the bridge.”
