A worker is fighting for his life after tumbling down an elevator shaft at a Financial District building, authorities said.
He fell about 11:20 a.m. at the building on Broadway near Rector Street, but it was not immediately clear how far he fell, according to an FDNY spokesman.
EMS took him to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, and he is expected to survive.
