Celebrity chef Daniel Boulud was sued yesterday by a former worker who claims she was short-changed on her wages and overtime, and illegally forced to share her tips with the maitre d’s and other employees ineligible to receive the gratuities.
Court papers say plaintiff Graciela Roman of Queens worked as a busser at Bar Boulud and Boulud Sud between 2007 and last month, and that seven former colleagues have already signed on to her class-action suit.
The Manhattan federal court filing doesn’t specify damages, but says that more than 50 of the 900 workers at Boulud’s restaurant empire are eligible to join the case.
