LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Police yesterday identified the man who was found murdered in a barn at Churchill Downs hours after the race track hosted the 138th Kentucky Derby.

The victim was 48-year-old Adan Sabian Perez, according to WDRB-TV. ABC News reported that Perez worked for horse trainer Cecil Borel, the brother of jockey Calvin Borel.

The Guatemala native reportedly lived in Barn No. 40 at Churchill Downs. Police said it appeared that he had been in an altercation.

His body was found shortly before 5 a.m. yesterday by a security guard.

No suspects have been identified. The cause of death was not yet known.

Perez was found only a few barns away from the one that housed Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another.
