Workers spent Tuesday repairing

.

At least six large fissures wormed their way through the concourse after the recent frigid temperatures caused the building to settle just a little too much, officials said.

Some of the cracks were a quarter-inch wide and nearly 20 feet long.

The workers sanded and filled the cracks with caulk. The repairs are temporary, and the broken terrazzo tiles will be completely replaced by the contractor soon at no cost to the state, said Amy Varghese, spokeswoman for the Empire State Development Corp.

“The cracks that appeared in the flooring due to extreme weather have no impact on concourse operations,” she said.
