Two window-washers were left dangling on a broken scaffold outside the 16th floor of a Manhattan building Wednesday.

The men were on the motorized scaffolding when it malfunctioned around 10 a.m. on the 16th floor of the 17-story building at 259 W. 30th St., according to an FDNY spokesman.

One victim was able to get off safely before authorities arrived, while the other was rescued by firefighters, who pulled him to safety.

“[Firefighters] threw him a rope, and they pulled him up to one of the windows,” said a nearby shop worker named Elvin, 25, who added that the man was yelling for help.

Video posted on Twitter by the Citizen app shows the worker hanging onto a rope on the highest point of the partially downed scaffolding as the firefighter reaches out through an open window.

“I can’t imagine how scared he must have been,” said one female witness. “He could have been killed, they both could have been killed.”

No injuries were reported.
