A wealthy Upper East Side restaurateur was spared jail time and fined a measly $10,000 yesterday for evading taxes on nearly $5 million he hid in Swiss bank accounts.
Ernest Vogliano, 80, was allowed to keep the liquor license at his famed Italian eatery, Il Vagabondo.
Vogliano, who paid almost $1 million in penalties to the IRS, said he was “deeply ashamed.”
