Two people were killed in a head-on collision that caused one car to burst into flames on a Long Island highway Tuesday, cops said.
The wrong-way driver slammed into another car going east on the Northern State Parkway in Dix Hills around 2:40 a.m., police officials said.
The car was quickly engulfed in flames, killing the driver instantly, cops said. The badly burned body was removed by the Medical Examiner’s Office, which will determine the identity, sources said.
The other driver also was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Police are continuing to investigate what caused the crash.
