Wrong-way on Taconic
An elderly man yesterday drove about five miles the wrong way on the Taconic State Parkway before finally stopping, State Police said.
Paul Narron, 79, was seen traveling north in the parkway’s southbound lane at about 4:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, Narron, who cops believe suffers from dementia, had stopped on the side of the road in Mount Pleasant. Nobody was hurt.
The wrong-way driver was taken to Westchester County Medical Center for evaluation.
Narron lives in North Carolina and police believe he’d been traveling for a couple of days.
In July, a woman driving a minivan crashed after driving the wrong way on the Taconic, killing herself and seven other people, including four children.
