The warship USS New York — built with 7½ tons of steel from the World Trade Center — will be part of the 10th-anniversary 9/11 celebration, after an initial snub.

“I’m tickled pink,” said Command Master Chief Ralph Perez, the ship’s highest-ranking enlisted man.

“We belong there. Our connection to the city is very, very deep. The crew takes the responsibility of representing the city very seriously.”

Just last week, elected leaders were scrambling to correct the oversight after officials failed to extend an invitation to Navy commanders.
