A yellow taxi went up in flames Tuesday morning in Tribeca — with dramatic photos showing the car completely engulfed in the inferno as black smoke billowed from the blaze.
The sedan caught fire around 11:50 a.m. on Greenwich Street between Jay and Harrison streets, an FDNY spokesman said.
No injuries were immediately reported, the spokesman said. FDNY personnel were still on scene as of 12:30 p.m., and the cause of the fire was still unclear.
Just hours earlier, a different yellow cab driver suffered a medical episode and slammed the minivan into scaffolding at the corner of West 43rd Street and Fifth Avenue during morning rush hour.
