A young girl and two others were seriously hurt when a commercial tree trimming truck hit a school bus in upstate Orange County Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The girl, who was sitting behind the bus driver, is hospitalized in critical but stable condition after the 8:20 a.m. crash in the Town of New Windsor, local police said in a statement. Her name and age were not immediately released.

The bus driver and the truck driver are both hospitalized in critical condition.

The crash happened on Route 207 when the truck, heading west, crossed over the double yellow line and struck the Washingtonville School District bus that was heading east, cops said.

Fire and rescue units from four separate departments responded and extricated the three most serious victims, authorities said.

Seven students walked off the bus and were brought to the hospital to be seen by medical professionals. They have since been treated and released.

The district confirmed to PIX 11 that the bus was from Little Britain Elementary school.

Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus told the station that the scene was “horrific” and described the crash as “probably the worst I’ve seen.”

“We’re hopeful that everyone is going to make a full recovery,” Neuhaus said.

The accident remains under investigation, authorities said.
