It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas — and it’s only September.

Lights, tinsel and ribbon-covered trees are already decking the halls of Midtown’s Kmart, just two weeks after Labor Day and four months before Santa is coming to town.

“It’s unbelievable!” said Maria Diaz, 62, of Long Island, as she perused the Penn Plaza store’s pre-fall wonderland. “We’re not even finished with the summer.”

Indeed, Kmart’s four glittering aisles of stockings and bows are flanked by walls of Halloween candy, confusing shoppers who haven’t even decided on a costume, let alone Yuletide decor.

“It’s not even fall yet. I’m not even acknowledging this,” said Upper West Sider Myrna Duarte, 42. Retail experts say stores are getting a head start to lure consumers amid a sluggish economy.
