The uncle of a Colorado airport driver charged with plotting to attack New York City with homemade bombs has been indicted in a widening terror probe, law-enforcement officials said yesterday.

Naquib Jaji, 38, who lived in Denver with his nephew, terror suspect Najibullah Zazi, was arraigned, and on Jan. 14 pleaded guilty in front of Judge Raymond Dearie to one count of lying to FBI agents, sources said.

His lawyer, Donald DuBoulay, on the day of the hearing denied any knowledge of the plea.

Jaji was released last Friday, according to the federal-prison Web site. The US attorney declined comment.

Zazi is charged with driving from Denver to New York with homemade bombs.
