The Mexican city of Guadalajara was hit with a freak hail storm on Sunday.
One of the country’s most populous cities was struck with a deluge of ice pellets that left homes battered and cars trapped in ice.
“I’ve never seen such scenes in Guadalajara,” said the state governor, Enrique Alfaro.
“Then we ask ourselves if climate change is real. These are never-before-seen natural phenomenons. It’s incredible.”
The city has a population of around five million and has been experiencing a summer temperature of around 88 degrees.
While seasonal hail storms do occur, there is no record of anything so heavy.
