Dramatic footage of a masked protester on a dirt bike waving a Mexican flag as he performs donuts around a blazing car in Los Angeles has become a symbol of the anti-ICE riots in the city.

The drone footage of the masked protester went viral after it was shared on X — and many observers say it gives President Trump a propaganda coup as he works to round up and deport migrants from LA and other sanctuary cities.

Photos and video from the riots show multiple protesters in Los Angeles waving foreign flags as they confronted federal agents.

The protests resumed Sunday evening outside the federal lockup in downtown LA, where National Guard troops were deployed — with the forces ordering demonstrators to disperse and then firing tear gas into the crowd.

“Insurrectionists carrying foreign flags are attacking immigration enforcement officers, while one half of America’s political leadership has decided that border enforcement is evil,” Vice President JD Vance posted on X late Saturday.

Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) was among those who responded with fury to the viral clip.

“Defund sanctuary jurisdictions. Fund ICE,” she wrote on her personal X account.

“Simple message to illegal aliens: leave now. You broke our laws to get here and you will be deported,” Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) wrote on X.

Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas) shared the image of the masked biker split with the picture of Trump immediately following his assassination attempt. “There are two visions for America. Choose wisely,” he wrote on X.

Fox News late-night host Greg Gutfeld wrote on X, “Trying to find a country to establish a sanctuary city where i can burn s–t while waving my native country’s flag, while violently demanding they don’t send me back to the native country of the flag i am waving.  Is there a country I can terrorize, then demand sympathy when they want me to leave?”

Right-wing influencer LibsOfTikTok also got in on the act, sharing a picture of the flag-waving biker along with the words “Incredible ad for MASS DEPORTATIONS,” in a viral X post.

Further pictures from demonstrations show protesters waving Palestinian flags, and one demonstrator standing on top of a blazing car with a flag from the impoverished African nation of Burkina Faso.

The dramatic footage came ahead of the deployment of thousands of California National Guard soldiers to LA to quell the unrest.

About 300 troops arrived early Sunday, the first tranche of 2,000 ordered by Trump.

On Sunday, he said protesters had reportedly been spitting on ICE agents, and vowed to put a stop to that.

“They spit, we hit. And I told them, nobody’s going to spit on our police officers, nobody’s going to spit on our militaries,” Trump said.

Overnight Saturday, at least 11 people were arrested by the LAPD after the city’s police department engaged in running battles with protesters after finally being ordered into the fray on the second night of unrest.

One person was detained by LA County sheriff’s deputies for throwing a Molotov cocktail and wounding three officers, and several others were detained following the unrest on Saturday, reportedly triggered by ICE raids on Friday.

The violence was concentrated in three neighborhoods of Los Angeles County: in downtown LA near Chinatown and in the suburbs of Paramount and in Compton, both in South Central LA.

Vehicles were set ablaze and graffiti with slogans such as “KILL ICE” and “F–K ICE” appeared on defaced public buildings.

Earlier, LA Mayor Karen Bass and the LAPD chief reminded residents that the cops would not intervene in ICE raids due to sanctuary city policies against helping federal agents enforce immigration law.

Anti-ICE rioters were filmed hurling rocks at federal agents as they caravanned through LA and the surrounding suburbs following arrests. At least one agent was injured by glass shards from one of the stones, Fox News reports.

The Department of Homeland Security defended the raids, saying that “murderers and sex offenders” were among those seized in ICE operations in LA this week.

“Why do Governor [Gavin] Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass care more about violent murderers and sex offenders than they do about protecting their own citizens?” DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said.

“These rioters in Los Angeles are fighting to keep rapists, murderers, and other violent criminals loose on Los Angeles streets. Instead of rioting, they should be thanking ICE officers every single day who wake up and make our communities safer,” she went on.

The National Guard would be deployed to “keep peace and allow people to be able to protest but also to keep law and order,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement.

Newsom branded Trump’s actions “purposefully inflammatory” and claimed it “will only escalate tensions.”

He later said, “They want a spectacle. They want the violence. They think this is good for them politically.”

LAPD officers have also stepped in after previously standing by due to Los Angeles’ sanctuary status.

“The Incident Commander has authorized the use of less lethal munitions to be deployed,” the LAPD Central Division wrote on X on Saturday night, as it urged demonstrators to “leave the area.”

Demonstrations continued Sunday outside LA’s Metropolitan Detention Center.

National Guard troops and ICE agents began lobbing tear gas canisters and smoke grenades into the crowd to make a path for their vehicles, Los Angeles Times reporter James Queally posted on X. Pellet rounds were also fired, striking protesters and members of the media on site to cover the protests.

Around 1:30 p.m. local time, DHS declared the protest, which had been pushed farther away from federal buildings and into the public street, an unlawful assembly, Queally wrote. He noted that the LAPD was no longer present at the scene.

Even as Democrats vowed to resist ICE, some saw the photo of the Mexican flag-waving protester as undermining that resistance.

“I swear this guy has to be a Republican plant,” Democratic supporter Armand Domalewski claimed on X.

“This is like the perfect propaganda footage for Trump and Steven Miller. Why do people do this?” Australian political observer Drew Pavlou wrote in response.
