Michael Avenatti arrived in Iowa on Thursday to speak at a Democratic event for presidential hopefuls, a report said.

The lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels will appear at the Democratic Wing Ding fundraiser on Friday night, where he will discuss his potential White House run, according to The Des Moines Register.

“I’m exploring a run for the presidency of the United States, and I wanted to come to Iowa and listen to people and learn about some issues that are facing the citizens of Iowa and do my homework,” Avenatti told the paper.

“I think there’s a huge appetite within the party for a fighter… And for many, I’m probably seen as that individual.”

Also appearing at the event is Rep. John Delaney of Maryland and entrepreneur Andrew Yang, who have both declared their candidacy for president. The event featured both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton in 2015.

Avenatti, who has been a constant presence on cable news, denied that the appearance was a publicity stunt.

“I would never think to come to Iowa in order to use the state or the people of the state to raise my profile,” he told the Register.

“And obviously if I do this, then I intend to work hard and I know that ultimately the trust of the citizens of Iowa is going to have to be earned.”
