A CNN executive named as one of Jeff Zucker’s replacements urged staffers on Thursday to “honor” the legacy of their ex-boss — despite him resigning in disgrace over his affair with a senior executive.

Michael Bass issued the bizarre rallying cry to employees on the network’s internal 9 a.m. editorial call, according to a tweet from CNN’s “Reliable Sources” host Brian Stelter.

“I know we’re all in shock,” Bass told staffers. “You can’t replace Jeff. It’s not possible. There’s no one else like him.”

He added: “The best thing we can do is honor his legacy and continue his mission … Do what we’ve been doing every single day.”

Bass, who is CNN US’s executive vice president of programming, was one of three top executives hastily named to form an interim leadership team at the network in the wake of Zucker’s shocking resignation on Wednesday.

Zucker abruptly stepped down after failing to disclose his relationship with Allison Gollust, who serves as CNN’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

Their affair reportedly was exposed during the network’s investigation into since-fired star anchor Chris Cuomo.

Rumors had been rife for years that Zucker and Gollust had been having an affair, and that it played a role in ending both their marriages, sources told The Post. Gollust had denied any non-business relationship with Zucker and accused reporters on numerous occasions of being “sexist” for suggesting that she was sleeping with her boss.

But she said in a statement late Wednesday they had been professional colleagues for more than two decades before their relationship “changed” during the pandemic.
