WASHINGTON – House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff announced Monday that Michael Cohen had agreed to voluntarily testify behind closed doors.

The testimony is slated for Feb. 8.

Cohen was originally scheduled to give public testimony on Feb. 7 before the House Oversight Committee.

He postponed that appearance, claiming “ongoing threats against his family from President Trump and Mr. Giuliani,” according to Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis, referencing presidential lawyer Rudy Giuliani.

Schiff said Monday that “we will continue to work with Mr. Cohen and law enforcement in order to protect Mr. Cohen and his family.”
