A man who was supposed to deliver an Amazon package to a Michigan home deliberately drove over the parcel instead, new video shows.

Surveillance video obtained by local station WXYZ shows the driver getting out of his unmarked van in the Detroit suburb of Troy Dec. 17 and placing the package — containing a smart remote for a garage door — in front of a rear tire.

He does a quick door-knock before getting back behind the wheel and driving back and forth over the parcel, the clip shows.

Then he drove away, came back around the block and ran over the package once again.

Neighbor George Porretta told the station he removed the mangled box from the street.

“The package was damaged,” he said. “I turned it over and realized it had been sliced open a couple of times.”

Then he delivered the package to the intended recipient.

“He was shocked, like anybody would be, but he took it,” Porretta said.

The order has since been replaced by Amazon, according to the neighbor — but Troy police are still searching for the driver who damaged it.

In a statement, Amazon said: “This behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the high standards we have for delivery service partners. This individual is no longer delivering packages for Amazon and we have reached out to the customer to make this right.”
