Mayor Bloomberg and national teachers-union boss Randi Weingarten battled to a draw in Tuesday’s Los Angeles school-board elections.
Bloomberg donated $1 million to elect a reform slate backing LA schools chief John Deasy, who is pushing accountability measures such as stricter teacher evaluations.
Weingarten’s American Federation of Teachers supported candidates fighting Deasy’s efforts.
Bloomberg-backed Monica Garcia, the current president of the school board, won her race.
But union-backed incumbent Steve Zimmer also retained his seat.
A third candidate for an open seat supported by Bloomberg, Antonio Sanchez, had the most votes in a four-way race. But he faces a run-off election because he garnered less than 50 percent of the vote.
