Police say a missing Iowa boy who walked out of his home over a fight with his parents died in a fall from a communication tower.

Corey Brown, 13, was found dead Sunday near the tower site in Marshalltown five days after he disappeared from his home, according to police.

Authorities said they believe Corey scaled a fence to get into the property then climbed up the communication tower.

A preliminary autopsy revealed he fell and suffered a significant head injury. His cause of death was likely blunt force trauma, officials said.

Police are investigating the incident, but said they do not believe foul play was involved.

Corey’s parents reportedly punished him and took away his cellphone hours before the teen vanished from his home. He was seen on the family’s security system walking away from the residence, authorities said.

“It’s a typical interaction with a 13-year-old child, nothing extraordinary, but he reacted emotionally to that,” Police Chief Mike Tupper said Thursday in a press conference, the Des Moines Register reported.

Police said the Brown family requests privacy as they grieve the 13-year-old.

“The family wishes to thank the Marshalltown/Marshall County community for all of their support during this difficult time,” authorities said in a statement. “The family also thanks the public safety personnel, and volunteers, who worked diligently during the search for Corey.”
