The body of a missing Tennessee mom was discovered this week — and two men will be charged with abuse of a corpse and other offenses, local authorities said.

Carolyn Pope, 29, of Fairview, was found dead around 8 p.m. Wednesday in a wooded area of Wrigley near power lines, the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Warrants have been issued for Mitchell Hinderliter and Christopher Hall for abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and making a false police report, authorities said.

Both men are already in jail on unrelated charges, the sheriff’s office said.

Pope, who lived in Fairview with her 5-year-old daughter and grandmother, was last seen alive Oct. 12 at a home on Tidwell Lane, local station WKRN reported.

Her worried grandmother filed a missing person’s report the next day, according to the report.

Pope’s relatives suspected something was wrong when Pope’s car was found on the side of the road, according to News Channel 5. Her phone was also missing its SIM card.

The investigation is still active, and more charges are expected against the two men once the medical examiner’s report is released, authorities said.
