APPOMATTOX, Va. — Authorities are investigating the death of a 22-year-old central Virginia woman who was found dead after being reported missing.

Campbell County Sheriff’s Office told the News & Advance Lisa Simone Henderson’s remains were recovered around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Major L.T. Guthrie says her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Authorities have said Henderson was last seen alive on April 5 in Lynchburg.

The Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office warned in a news release Sunday that Henderson “may be in extreme danger,” after the discovery of her unoccupied car in Lynchburg that day.
