An airplane that vanished while carrying an Italian fashion mogul was discovered off the coast of Venezuela after a six-month search, officials and family members said yesterday.

Search crews found wreckage of the small plane roughly 250 feet from Los Roques Islands after Vittorio Missoni, 58, went missing in January, along with five other passengers.

“It is confirmed that the airplane number YV615BN-2A . . . has been found,” a representative for the Missoni family said yesterday in a statement thanking “the Venezuelan and Italian governments for making this search possible.”

Missoni was CEO of the upscale Missoni fashion house, which created clothes for Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.

Search crews found no bodies or clues to the cause of the plane wreck, officials said.
