A body found near an Orlando, Fla., apartment complex over the weekend was confirmed Tuesday to be that of missing 19-year-old college student Miya Marcano.

The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the remains as Marcano, who was reported missing on Sept. 24.

The cause and manner of death were not released.

Marcano’s body was discovered Saturday morning during a search near the Tymber Skan on the Lake Condominiums. Her purse was also found nearby, police said.

The sole suspect in the case, Armando Manuel Caballero, was found dead of an apparent suicide in his own apartment elsewhere in Orlando on Sept. 27.

Marcano, who was studying at Valencia College, had reportedly turned down multiple advances by Caballero, a maintenance worker at her apartment complex. His cellphone data led cops to Marcano’s body.

Marcano’s cousin Caili Sue said that the family has been “very somber” since the news of the tragic discovery.

“We are devastated. We are angry and we know our lives have now been changed forever,” she told the Sun on Saturday.
