Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said eligible Americans will receive direct-deposit payments as part of the $2.2 trillion rescue bill “within three weeks.”

“We expect that within three weeks, that people who have direct deposit with information with us will see those direct deposits into their bank accounts, and we will create a web-based system for people where we don’t have their direct deposit, they can upload it so that they can get the money immediately as opposed to checks in the mail,” Mnuchin said on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.”

The financial package, passed overwhelmingly by Congress and signed by President Trump on Friday to offset the devastating economic effects of the coronavirus, includes $1,200 checks to taxpayers who earn less than $75,000 a year.
