Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said on Thursday that he will pull out of a Saudi investment summit organized by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman as international fallout over the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi continues.

“Just met with @realDonaldTrump and @SecPompeo and we have decided, I will not be participating in the Future Investment Initiative summit in Saudi Arabia,” Mnuchin wrote on Twitter.

A slew of high-profile business executives and media companies have announced they will skip the conference scheduled for later this month in Riyadh since Khashoggi vanished after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2.

Turkish officials believe Khashoggi, who wrote for the Washington Post, was killed and dismembered by a team of Saudis after arriving at the consulate.
