The Saudi military man who opened fire a Pensacola, Fla., naval base, killing three, wrote a cryptic message on social media in the months before the attack, according to a report.

Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, 21, allegedly wrote a post containing the phrase “the countdown has started” on Sept. 11, 2019, just four months before the shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola, ABC News reported.

In other posts, the suspect reportedly referred to non-Muslims on social media as “infidels” and defended jihad, according to the report.

“I’m against evil, and America as a whole has turned into a nation of evil,” one post said, according to ABC. “What I see from America is the supporting of Israel which is invasion of Muslim countries, I see invasion of many countries by its troops, I see Guantanamo Bay. I see cruise missiles, cluster bombs and UAV.”

Alshamrani killed three and injured eight, including two sheriffs deputies, on Dec. 6 before one of the deputies shot him dead, officials said.

The FBI has said that it is investigating the incident with the “presumption” that the attack was terrorism.
