A Bronx court appearance for an accused killer turned “Jerry Springer Show” Thursday when the defendant’s mom started yelling at the victim’s family members — getting her kicked out of the courtroom.
“Stop starting trouble!” Tijuana Graham Wheeler, the mother of Daquan Wheeler — who allegedly killed Lisa Marie Velasquez, 25 — yelled at the victim’s family before being escorted out of the courtroom.
The outburst brought Velasquez’s 53-year-old aunt, Jacqueline Perez, to tears as she stood silently in the courtroom awaiting the arrival of her niece’s accused killer.
Wheeler, 31 — with the help of girlfriend Ciara Martinez, 30 — allegedly beat Velasquez to death with a hammer before chopping her up, placing her body parts in multiple bags that were discovered in two separate parks over the past two weeks.
Wheeler and Martinez had been fighting when Martinez called her pal Velasquez over to her Longwood apartment to help her on Aug. 22.
Outside of court, Perez said, “It was horrible. [Wheeler] killed my niece [and his mom] yelled at me.”
Perez said it made her “very upset,” adding, “That’s my niece. My niece is no longer here.”
Perez noted that she and the family were headed to Velasquez’s wake on Thursday afternoon with the funeral set to follow on Friday morning.
In a tragic coincidence, at age 12 Velasquez witnessed the murder of her mother, Marilyn Ginel.
The accused killer’s mom cried outside of court but seemed more upset at having traveled to the Bronx to see her son only to be shut out.
“I came all the way over here from Far Rockaway…They going to put me out of the court, why?” Graham Wheeler said.
Graham Wheeler claims that one of Velasquez’s family members made a remark to her before the court appearance that sparked her anger but wouldn’t elaborate on what it was.
“Why you mad at me? I didn’t do anything to your daughter and how do you know if my son did that?” Graham Wheeler said.
At a prior court appearance Graham Wheeler declared her son’s innocence and blamed the murder on Martinez.
Wheeler is due back in court on Sept. 25 and Martinez is due back on Sept. 18.
