The mother of a young dad who was among six revelers slain in the mass shooting in Sacramento, California, has decried the senseless “massacre.”
“Hopefully they’ll catch these people and prosecute them to the fullest,” Sergio Harris’ mom Pamela told the “Today” show in an interview airing Monday.
“Because this was senseless.”
She said there were “bullets everywhere” after at least two gunmen fired more than 75 rounds in less than a minute as people left bars and clubs early Sunday.
“I mean, that was a massacre,” the grieving mom told “Today.”
Her son, a married dad of two daughters, was one of the first two victims identified. He was among three men and three women who were slain and 12 others were wounded, with at least four of those with critical injuries.

She told “Today” that she is now left just hoping “to get some answers.”

“He has two young daughters that love him dearly, and he loved them. They’re not gonna see their father anymore.”
“Hopefully they’ll catch these people and prosecute them to the fullest,” Pamela Harris said. Rich Pedroncelli/APSacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester said Sunday that “a large fight took place just prior to the shooting, and we have confirmed there were multiple shooters.”
Her force said it was aware of a video on social media showing “an altercation that preceded the shooting,” and asked for witnesses to send in videos to help the hunt.
“The scale of violence that just happened in our city is unprecedented during my 27 years here,” Lester told reporters during a press conference at police headquarters.
