A “monster” Alabama mom was sentenced this week for sexually abusing two children for years with her husband — over a decade after their depraved acts were reported to authorities.

Lisa Marie Lesher, 41, was ordered by a Morgan County judge Monday to serve 723 years in prison, the maximum penalty for depraved crimes, the Decatur Daily reported.

She and her husband, Michael Lesher, sexually abused her daughter and stepdaughter for several years at their home in Falkville, prosecutors said.

The crimes were first reported in 2007 after a school resource officer noticed an injury to one of the children’s necks, the Tuscaloosa News reported.

But prosecutors didn’t reopen the case until years later when the victims were in their 20s and willing to testify, the outlets reported.

Lisa was convicted by a jury last month on charges of rape, sodomy, sexual torture and sexual abuse, while Michael was tried last year on similar charges, and sentenced to 438 years in prison.

District Attorney Scott Anderson celebrated the mom’s sentence, saying she “deserved every day of it.”

“Justice has been served,” he said in a statement obtained by news station WIAT.

Assistant District Attorney Courtney Schellack also said prosecutors were “thrilled” with the outcome of Lisa’s case.

“The victims suffered for years living with these monsters, and have suffered with the consequences of their actions for over a decade,” she said. “The sentence, in this case, was well deserved, and gives the victims a sense of closure.”
