A majority of Americans oppose allowing Syrian refugees into the country amid jitters following the Paris terrorist attacks, a new poll reveals.

Fifty-three percent of US adults said the nation should not continue a program to let in up to 10,000 refugees — thus siding with Republican presidential candidates, governors and lawmakers who want to halt the Obama administration’s resettlement program, a Bloomberg Politics poll reveals.

Just 28 percent said they would keep the program with the screening process as it now exists.

Meanwhile, 11 percent of those surveyed said they would favor a limited program to accept Syrian Christians but exclude Muslims.

Voters are split 44 percent to 45 percent on whether to send US troops to Iraq and Syria to fight ISIS.

The poll of more than 1,000 respondents from Sunday through Tuesday has a 3 percentage-point margin of error.
