Jane Nebel Henson, the longtime spouse and creative sidekick of Muppets mastermind Jim Henson, died Tuesday. She was 79.

The Queens native died after a “long battle with cancer” in her Connecticut home, according to a statement released by the Jim Henson Company. They had five grown children.
