Two people were shot and killed at a Kroger supermarket in Kentucky on Wednesday, according to reports.

A suspect was taken into custody after the incident, cops said.

Local reporter Valerie Chinn, of WDRB News, tweeted Wednesday that an EMT who was inside the Jeffersontown store outside Louisville told her he “saw two people shooting at each other.” He said an elderly woman got caught in the crossfire.

“[The EMT] tried to do CPR on her, but says she died,” Chinn tweeted.

Police later confirmed that there were two fatalities. They did not offer any details about a possible motive.

“We are shocked and saddened by the shooting,” Kroger said in a statement. “Thanks to the quick response of the local police department, the suspect was apprehended and our store is secure. We are cooperating with law enforcement and assisting with their investigation.”
